Child-Friendly Environment
Safe CDC is designed to be a welcoming and child-friendly setting, with a range of toys and activities available to suit various stages of child development.
We also have a separate waiting room where children and young people (CYP) can relax. If you feel your child cannot be left unsupervised, we recommend that two adults attend the appointment—so one can supervise the child while the other participates in the consultation.
Schedule of Fees
At Safe CDC, we are committed to transparent fees and high-quality, personalised care. All assessments are conducted in line with NICE guidelines and tailored to each child’s individual needs. Below is a guide to our most commonly requested services.
The neurodevelopmental assessment at Safe CDC is always fully integrated and considers ASD, ADHD, and other possible differential diagnoses. The Paediatric Neurodevelopment (PND) Consultation is the initial stage of the process. Following this, we will advise you on whether further assessment is needed for ASD and/or ADHD. Each assessment has its own appointment, but they form part of the same continuous assessment pathway.
Getting Started at Safe CDC (Ages 0 - 18 years)
If you have concerns about your CYP's health and development at any age, we recommend beginning with a Paediatric Neurodevelopment (PND) Consultation. This is conducted by our Consultant Community Paediatrician, who specialises in neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
This appointment provides a holistic overview of your child’s development and wellbeing. It offers personalised advice and guidance, and in some cases, this may be sufficient without the need for further assessments. If diagnostic assessments are needed, the PND forms the clinical foundation.
PND Consultation Fee: £376
Please let us know if you have any questions, or if you would like to proceed so we can send you the registration forms and arrange an appointment at Safe CDC, contact us at gethelp@safecdc.com.
Further ADHD Assessment & Management (Ages 6–18 years)
If ADHD is suspected following the PND Consultation, we proceed in accordance with NICE guidelines. The assessment includes:
•Standardised ADHD questionnaires (Conners 4) completed by parents/carers and the school
•An objective Assessment using QbCheck
•A structured diagnostic evaluation based on DSM-5 criteria
ADHD Assessment Fee: £564
At Safe CDC, we provide guidance tailored to the needs of each child or young person. Our clinician, a qualified paediatrician, is approved as a private prescriber for controlled medications used in ADHD management.
If ADHD medication is started, we follow a structured monitoring plan:
📞 3-4 weeks telephone review – £99
🏥 2 to 3-month in-person review – £188
🔄 Follow-ups every 6 months (including Vanderbilt’s Questionnaires) – £238
At Safe CDC, we do not charge for issuing prescriptions as part of your clinical consultation. However, for repeat prescriptions issued outside of a consultation, there is a standard fee of £40, which is electronically sent or posted to your address.
For expert support and a tailored ADHD management plan, contact us at gethelp@safecdc.com.
Further Autism Assessment & Management (Ages 3–18 years)
If an ASD assessment is indicated, we carry out a Multidisciplinary Diagnostic Assessment (MDA) in line with NICE guidelines. This is led by a Consultant Community Paediatrician in collaboration with either an Educational Psychologist or Speech and Language Therapist.
The MDA typically includes:
•An observational visit to your child’s educational setting
•Multi-source information gathering, including parental and school input
•A Clinical Autism Assessment using the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition)
ASD Multidisciplinary Assessment Fee: £1,302

FAQ
Shared Care with General Practitioner (GP)
A Shared Care Agreement (SCA) is a formal arrangement in which a patient’s care is shared between a specialist service and their GP, typically for a condition that is stable and well managed.
At Safe CDC, a Shared Care Agreement may be proposed to a child’s GP at the request of the family once medication has been initiated by our clinician, the child has commenced treatment, has been reviewed, and is clinically stable on the prescribed medication.
Please note that Shared Care Agreements are always at the discretion of the GP. While some practices may agree to enter into an SCA, others may decline. Policies and willingness to participate can vary between GP practices, and we therefore recommend checking directly with your GP surgery regarding their specific policy.
Alternatively, if you wish to transfer ongoing care to NHS specialist services, please be aware that NHS providers may have different eligibility criteria, referral requirements or waiting times. We recommend contacting the relevant NHS service directly to confirm their process.
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) Assessment
Safe CDC focuses on officially recognised neurodevelopmental conditions for which there are established diagnostic pathways, clinical frameworks and national guidelines, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is not recognised as a standalone medical diagnosis within major international diagnostic classification systems, including the DSM-5 and ICD-11. Consequently, there is no validated or standardised clinical assessment tool that would enable Safe CDC to issue a formal PDA diagnosis in the same way as ASD or ADHD.
Where demand-avoidant presentations are identified, PDA is generally understood as a behavioural profile or pattern of traits, most commonly considered within the context of a child’s broader neurodevelopmental profile, rather than as a separate condition.
